Isolated DC-DC Buck Converter

Isolated DC-DC Buck Converter

Isolated DC-DC Buck Converter

Reliable Isolated Power Conversion for High-Voltage DC Systems

The Isolated DC-DC Buck Converter is a 60 W power conversion module designed to convert high-voltage DC input into a stable, configurable low-voltage DC output. It supports an input range of 75 to 140 VDC and a configurable output range of 5 to 48 VDC, making it suitable for a wide range of industrial and electrical applications.

The converter uses a forward converter topology with closed-loop regulation for controlled output voltage. Galvanic isolation separates the input and output sides, while integrated current and thermal protection help support reliable continuous operation.

High-Voltage DC to Regulated Low-Voltage DC

The converter is designed for applications where a regulated low-voltage supply needs to be derived from a higher-voltage DC bus or battery system.

With its 75 to 140 VDC input range and 5 to 48 VDC configurable output, the module can support different system architectures while providing electrical isolation between the source and load.

A typical tested configuration provides 24 VDC at 2.5 A, with a rated power of 60 W.

Protection and Thermal Management

The converter incorporates 2.5 A current limiting to help protect the output during excessive load conditions. Automatic thermal shutdown provides additional protection if operating temperature rises beyond the permitted range.

The unit uses natural convection cooling, eliminating the need for forced-air cooling where the application's thermal conditions permit.
